New work from the artist, Ann esckilsen

My current art is created with a digital computer program and is all done by hand rather than pens or other instruments. I have been told that my art looks as if it represents pieces from multiple artists. This may be true. I try to draw when I am in a meditative state of mind, so I often do not plan the subject that I depict. I have always been fascinated by different cultures, countries, ethnicities, and faces. This accounts for the many people I draw. As I draw, I like to cultivate compassion and greater understanding for all folks. I have always found different languages and their origins fascinating. I like to use foreign words and also fictional characters in my work. The depiction of trees and trees with people inside them has been a favorite theme of mine as well.
